Efficient Removal of Gases, Odors, and Airborne Contaminants

Activated carbon is widely used in air filtration systems to eliminate harmful gases, odors, and volatile organic compounds, helping improve indoor and industrial air quality.

The process begins as polluted air passes through a bed of activated carbon—available in granular or pellet form—where contaminants are trapped within its porous structure. These pollutants adhere to the carbon’s surface through physical or chemical adsorption, effectively removing them from the air. The result is clean, purified air exiting the system. Over time, as the carbon pores fill with captured contaminants, the filter’s efficiency decreases and must be either replaced or regenerated to maintain optimal performance.

Activated carbon filtration provides a simple, reliable, and highly effective solution for controlling air pollutants across various applications.

Industrial air and gas cleaning using activated carbon

Pelletized Activated Carbon: Produced by extruding activated carbon powder with a binding agent, pelletized activated carbon forms dense pellets that offer low pressure drop, making it ideal for efficient filtration of both gases and liquids.

Granulated Activated Carbon

Granulated activated carbon consists of larger particles than powdered forms, making it suitable for use in cartridges or filtration beds, commonly applied in air purification and deodorization systems.

Deodorization

Activated carbon is an excellent deodorizer due to its ability to adsorb unpleasant odors. It can be used to eliminate odors in refrigerators, shoes, closets, and even for controlling pet odors. Activated carbon bags or sachets are commonly used for this purpose.
